There's a kind of Wednesday I've come to love. It's the one where a show makes you wait a full week for the next hour, and you actually do. In an era when most streaming dramas land as a pile you can finish in a weekend, Slow Horses has stuck to one episode at a time, and TheWrap points out it's one of the few Apple TV originals that still does. Today, that six-week run ends.

So this isn't a review of an episode I haven't seen. It's a finale-day guide: when it's likely to show up on your screen, what's riding on it, where Season 7 stands, and the four questions I'm bringing to the couch. When does the Slow Horses Season 6 finale come out, and what time does it stream?

Apple's episode page lists "Judgment Day," Season 6, Episode 6, for Oct. 21, 2026. That's the date on paper. When you're trying to dodge spoilers, though, the clock matters more than the calendar, and the sources don't fully agree, so here's the honest picture:

  Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026, per the Apple TV episode page.

• The recent U.S. pattern

  The evening before: about 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT on Tuesday, according to The Mac Observer. Forbes also reports that Slow Horses episodes have been arriving on Tuesday evenings in the U.S.

• The other time you'll see

  12 a.m. PT / 3 a.m. ET on Wednesday, which is what DraftKings Network gives for the finale and what AOL attributes to Radio Times as Apple TV's usual drop time.

Apple doesn't state a time on its episode pages, according to The Mac Observer, so none of these is an official promise. I'd trust the pattern over the print. If you're reading this on Wednesday, open the Apple TV app before you open social media, because the finale may well be up already.

What are the four questions I want the Slow Horses finale to answer?

These are mine, built from the setup above. The dots are my own rating of how much each answer changes the show heading into Season 7. They're opinion, not predictions.

1. Does Taverner actually pay for Kazan?

   She used someone else's identity for a hit, was ready to trade that person away to bury it, and is already being squeezed by oversight. The finale's setup says she and Lamb team up, and I want to know whether that's a truce or a trade.

   He walked into custody on purpose. Whether the Dogs treat him as a prisoner or a problem to be managed says a lot about how scared Taverner is.

   Apple's own blurb says it becomes unsafe. Harkness is River's father, which makes this the most personal danger the Slough House crew has faced.

   It's a small detail that I can't stop thinking about. A missing body is the kind of loose thread this show usually ties off in the final hour, or hangs on purpose.

The Road Ahead

Is Slow Horses renewed for Season 7, and when could it come out?

Yes. Apple confirmed a seventh season in 2025, and Season 7 is set to adapt Bad Actors, the eighth novel in Mick Herron's Slough House series, according to Wikipedia. On Sept. 15, 2026, the day before Season 6 premiered, Apple also announced a six-episode Season 8 based on Clown Town, per The Mac Observer. So the show's future is locked in through at least two more seasons.

What I couldn't find is a Season 7 premiere date. Christopher Chung, who plays Roddy Ho, told ScreenRant he thinks 2027 is a good bet, according to MovieWeb. One outlet says Season 7 has already been filmed, but I couldn't confirm that anywhere else, so I'd treat it as unverified.

Here's my own arithmetic on how long the gaps between season premieres have been, in months, using each season's premiere month:

The last two gaps were exactly a year. If Apple keeps that rhythm, a fall 2027 return would fit the pattern. That's my guess from the calendar, not an announcement, and Apple hasn't said anything of the kind.

Why the weekly wait is part of the magic: my take

Here's what I keep coming back to. Slow Horses is a show about people the system has written off, and it has the patience to match. Six weekly episodes means six chances to argue with a friend about what Taverner is really up to, and six days to sit with whatever just happened to River and Sid. A binge release would have flattened that into one long afternoon.

I'll admit I was skeptical about squeezing two novels into six episodes. Joe Country and Slough House are very different books, and the season's own pacing has a lot to carry. But what the recaps describe, a conspiracy that finally surfaces in Episode 5 and a finale built around Lamb and Taverner being forced into the same room, sounds like a season that knows exactly where it's going. I haven't seen the finale, so I won't pretend to know whether it lands. I'm hopeful.
